Linden grill has decent food if you want something cheap. It is not a very nice establishment and isn't in the best part of town. The place is very small and the restrooms are awkwardly through the lobby of the large building the restaurant is in. Our server wasn't old enough to serve us alcohol so we had to walk to the bar for beers, but I didn't mind. I tried my first colt 45. Good stuff. The food was okay, nothing special, except the potatoes and onions which were amazing. It wasn't a bad deal since I had a Groupon, but I'm not sure I would go here again without another Groupon. The waitress was polite but not very knowledgable about the menu though she was able to recommend the burgers and the wings. The food also took quite a while to come out, but it was fresh when we got it. I probably won't hurry back here, but it's an okay hole in the wall joint, you know, small but acceptable, just not very cozy or clean. Mostly a place to go with your buddies for some greasy food and a couple beers and not a place to take your kids in my opinion.

Great food, love the wings!! Staff is friendly and its a very clean place. I miss the linden street location. Definitely worth a visit. The long lunch line speaks for itself!!

First I will say I normally love Linden Grill. I went today a couple hours ago for their famous perch. I was disappointed because the perch was so small that they looked like strips. Otherwise I would give a 5. Not sure if it was because it was a ND game day that it was skimpy. I hope I have better luck next time.

Vacation continues in the Bend and I'm really enjoying the peace away from the Pow Wow in DC. I've walked and still walking around the familiar neighborhoods and places I hung out during my growing pains - don't get it twisted :/ so I'm downtown and I want something fast, fulfilling and good, but definitely not fast food. I come across this spot on Main Street in downtown South Bend - Linden Grill. It has an "ole" neighborhood vibe, and it's another addition to the host of other new restaurants, shops, stores, etc. Once inside I'm greeted by an employee (very pleasant) and she takes my order. Didn't order much, again all I wanted was something good, quick and fulfilling so I ordered this Turkey Melt sandwich. There was no crowd as it was kind of late in the day so I suppose this is as lite as its gets once the business day is/was over and that was fine with me. While waiting for my order, I took some time to look at the few business cards I'd scooped up since being back "home." Now LG lost some cool points when my sandwich arrived at least 35 - 40 minutes after ordering. Within 10 minutes of its arrival, the waitress apologized and told me the order would be coming soon, and she was nice about it unlike "the others." When it arrived, it arrived "fashionably" tasty looking. This sandwich was loaded with sliced turkey, melted cheese and tomatoes between thick-sliced and toasted Texas toast. I enjoyed every bit of that sandwich, slowly. When I make a return trip back "home" it's possible I'd come here again cause I have to try something different this time; then again, that sandwich is already a favorite. So we may just have to greet each other again. Thank LG.

The lady behind the counter was more interested to talk with her friends seating at the counter than taking care of us in the table, she was using improper language and the food was dried and salty:(

The food is excellent, we ordered wings, perch, shrimp, a burger, and a Philly cheese steak Sandwich. They sure know how to make it taste good. Everything is made to order, not frozen from the local bulk food store. It is soul food, so it may not be exactly what you might expect, but don't let that stop you from trying it!

Great food. My table ordered burgers, fries, onion rings and wings. I personally tastes everything and was very pleased. The burger was fantastic. Crinkle cut fries were good, onion rings were good. Wings were very good, were basically fried chicken wings, but again - very good. Service was a bit slow, I was there for weekday lunch, only one person to wait tables, take carry out calls, everything but cooking. Took a while to get our waters. Will definitely be back.

This place is a west side staple. I've only been to the downtown location, but I've never been disappointed! Friendly service, full bar, VERY tasty burgers. I believe it's family run, and you can really feel that in the atmosphere. We usually do carry out, but the outdoor seating during the summer was nice. I have never been to one of their shows, but I hear it's a good time on the nights that they are open late. Seriously, one of the best burgers you can get downtown.

I went here for lunch today with my son. The staff was very friendly. The Manager/Cook came out to see if everything was OK. These are some of the best burgers that I have had in South Bend. Daily Specials. I will definitely go back. Only problem was parking.

Service was so poor I never got served. I went there right after attending a wedding to grab a bite. I was told I would be helped "in just a moment" and the proceeded to wait and watched as the staff served people who came in after me. After waiting for over 15 minutes I finally got up to leave and they said nothing. Would NOT recommend.

Good, solid, greasy food. Hamburgers, fried chicken wings and fish, Philly cheesesteaks. Chicken wings were a little salty, but still really good. Philly cheesesteaks were the "real deal" according to my Jersey friends. Fries, onion rings, fried okra had that satisfying feeling that comes when there's enough of the vegetable to taste. They even had some cake! Nothing fancy, but dense and moist with a super almond extract-ey frosting. What this place is not is fast (everything is made to order), or super cheap (portions aren't enormous). But it's still a good price - 5 chicken wings and fries are about $7, and I couldn't finish all that. We'll be back. A good add to downtown SB!

Excellent food. Good drink/food prices. Friendly staff. Okay music at a respectable volume. Service was slow - only reason I can't give 5 stars this time. And the decor/lighting could use some help. They should think about getting a drink menu, even a small one (and not all vodka drinks!), and work on selling the nice liquors they do have. The food is what carries the place for now, and I have to say they have the best catfish I've ever tasted. Pretty good fried okra as well. I've also enjoyed their fried chicken, which I don't even usually like, and their potatoes&onions. The only food I've tasted that didn't impress me too much were the fries - not that they were bad, but I think they might be the one thing I tried that wasn't prepared entirely in-house. Ask the server to "give it some love," and they'll put their house spice mix in whatever you order before they cook it. Very flavorful, but not too spicy. The hotsauce they have is the same way - not in-your-face, and the perfect accompaniment to the catfish I had. I hope they continue to do well and maybe even improve in the future.

Just recently installed a bar, which means I finna to have been getting day drunk up in this mug. The food is fire. Try the pork chop sandwich.

We stopped here on our cross country trip. Decor was lacking, but the food was fantastic! The server, wish I knew her name, was super nice and friendly. I would go again if I'm in the area!
